U.S. CAPACITY UTILIZATION

MKTPULSE_Capacity Utilization

U.S. Capacity Utilization, a common recession indicator, has been posting lower highs since the boom years ahead of the Great Recession. This metric has not achieved a pre-Great Recession high in spite of all the Federal Reserve easing and appears to be trailing off in 2018 as stimulus is removed. Capacity utilization tracks the extent to which the installed productive capacity of a country is being used in the production of goods and services and is published monthly in the U.S. by the U.S. Federal reserve. Keep an eye on this metric, for lower lows would be telling.
